            Prema talks about In Fusion
Continued (Pg. 3) – Years ago, long before the seed of this album had been planted, I added the legend that is
Wah Wah Watson (one of the original members of the Motown band) on to my wish list. When the time came to
contact Wah Wah, I remembered an email which contained his phone number. So, I took a chance, dialled the
number and lo & behold, I was talking to Wah Wah Watson!

So, Wah Wah agreed to work on the album and being the perfectionist that he is, recorded no less than 30
different guitar tracks at his home studio in LA for the first song!
This amazing, giving man went on to produce and arrange all his

parts for the 13 songs, working so very hard to get them done in
time for the session in New York. We spent hours on the phone
collaborating, and he would often record while I listened in
admiration on the other end of the line. With under a week to
spare we finally received his hard drive containing all that he
had done, ready to be merged with the much anticipated studio
                recordings that were to follow.

Wah Wah shared with me so much of his knowledge, expertise,
genius and insight during the month that we worked together.
You must remember, this is the man whose distinctive sound was on The Temptations’ ‘Pappa Was A Rolling
Stone’, as well as seminal albums by artistes such as Barry White and Marvin Gaye – his tones have helped to
sculpt some of the world’s most significant music. Yet, he gave so freely not only of his prolific talent but so
much of his heart. His work on this album is integral to its sound and vibe; his guidance and friendship were
                truly invaluable.

We chose New York because all the musicians were American and logistically it worked out brilliantly. I also had
a strong sense that I would blossom there out of my comfort zone, having to root myself swiftly in order to
thrive. This process was made less overwhelming because my dear friend Norman Lim, who lives in NYC, very
generously shared his home. His support, encouragement & love gave me vital nourishment; it was such a
boon. We stayed in Harlem (overlooking the Hudson River), and being right there in the cradle of immense
cultural history and music aroused fresh inspiration...Harlem, my Muse.
