Prema talks about In Fusion

Continued (Pg. 5) – When those initial 3 day ‘live’ sessions were done, it was time for me to do my lead vocals. Eshy was now in charge of the controls and in keeping with the spirit of the album we recorded them devoid of enhancements or correction. What you hear is the real deal; honest and absolute.

After that, time was becoming a real issue. We only had 3 days in which to do the backing vocals and my acoustic guitar, 2 days to mix and half a day to squeeze Bashiri’s session in as well. So, rise to the challenge it was! The guitar tracks were put down in 1 ½ days and likewise the backing vocals (which I have to add were mostly created on the fly!). Talk about diving in at the deep end. After this whirlwind session we were then faced with the mammoth task of mixing the album in 2 days. Now this is just not done, well not these days anyway, but such constraints often yield the greatest results. Using the stunning SSL 9000J series console with a little help from Pro Tools, the final mix is warm, intimate and inviting. Eshy truly pulled it off with aplomb, with the last session beginning at 10am and ending at 6am the next day! Now that’s real commitment. :-)

Finally, after a day of rest the music was passed on to Tony Gillis’s skilful hands to master, which he did with great expertise and emotional cognisance. When Tony pressed the mastered CD into my hands, I was overcome...and it struck me that a tremendous amount of love, hard work and passion had been woven into this album; the combined efforts of so many souls working together in fusion.
